Wamego Foundation Match Day Benefactors

The generosity and dedication of a limited number of Benefactors have made each of the Wamego Match Day events a rousing success through their significant gifts to the Foundation which have been earmarked to be used and made available for matching grant monies given to various Match Day participants. Over a period of many years, these Benefactors and their various family members have lived in and are or have been an active part of this community and have participated in many volunteer, community, civic and philanthropic activities.

During this process, each has developed a strong sense of devotion, fondness, and dedication which each considers to be an important and integral part of a wonderful community and charitable citizenry which has continued to this day. The Match Day monies made available by these Benefactors through their gifts to the Foundation are used to provide additional matches of funds in amounts of up to 50% of donations made by members of the public at large. For the Match Day event, public donations ranging from a minimum amount of $25.00 to a maximum of $5000.00 per public donor and given to each participating organization will qualify for additional gifts from these matching funds. These public donations consist of charitable gifts to various Match Day participating nonprofits and charitable funds which are made by members of the general public who donate their gifts in support of these organizations during the period of each Wamego Match Day Event.

In recognition of the invaluable contributions made by them for each of these community-wide days of pride and inspiration in philanthropy and charitable giving, the Foundation Board of Directors has created the Match Day Benefactors Circle of Charitable Giving.  This is but one means of expressing the appreciation and gratitude of the Wamego Community Foundation and the Wamego Community for their contributions and the resulting difference these Benefactors have made, and continue to make, in and to this Wamego Community and the surrounding area.
