Pott-Wab Infant Toddler

Goal: $8,000.00

Specific Need

Infant Toddler Services provides support to families with children from birth to age 3 who have developmental delays or disabilites. One of the supports provided is regular free vision screenings. As part of the initial eligibility evaluation under Part C, a vision screening must be completed. The purpose of this screening is to rule out the possibility that problems in vision may be negatively impacting development.

One of the vision screening tools Infant Toddler Services uses is the SPOT vision screener. The SPOT is a portable ocular screening device designed to help quickly and easily identify risk factors of vision issues on patients as young as six months old. We are raising funds to purchase a new SPOT for our local Infant Toddler Services program.

Mission

Our mission is to support Kansas families with infants or toddlers experiencing developmental delays or disablilites so every child can learn, grow, and achieve their fullest potential.

Profile

We are a local non-profit organization providing freedevelopmental support and services to children.

Whether a child has a disability or simply needs a little help in a developmental area (walking, talking, eating, behavior),

the licensed team of educators and therapists work with families to build a plan tailored to their child and family.

After a referral is made to us, we will contact the family and set up a time for an initial evaluation (and intake visit). Feel free to ask questions on the phone or at any visit!

The initial evaluation is comprehensive and looks at all areas of development (including speech/language, motor skills, social/emotional skills, self-help skills, and more!) and the child's participation in family routines and activities.

Once an evaluation is completed, the team will determine if the child is eligible and make a plan with the family for services and how best to serve you!

We utilize a primary service provider approach: this means that each family gets a dedicated service provider working with them and coaching them through the strategies that will best suit their families day to day life, while getting access to our whole team of professionals.
