Mission

Ten years ago, six dedicated individuals had a vision: to raise the funds needed to start a women’s golf team at Wamego High School. They set a goal, worked together, and made that dream a reality. But they didn’t stop there. That original mission grew into something even bigger — continuing to grow the game of golf and create opportunities for young people in our community.

The mission of the WAYGolf (Wamego Area Youth Golf Foundation) is to introduce youth to the game, provide fundamental instruction, support youth golf programs, and have FUN!!!

Funds raised through WAYGolf directly support youth golf opportunities through the Wamego area, including K-12 school physical education classes, summer golf programs, and the Wamego High School and Wamego Middle School Golf Teams.

Through these programs, young people have the opportunity to learn and develop golf skills while building confidence, friendships, sportsmanship, and a foundation for a lifelong game. Golf is a sport that can be enjoyed at every age, and our goal is to make sure youth in Wamego and the surrounding communities have the opportunity to experience it.

Your support helps us grow the game of golf and create lasting opportunities for the next generation of golfers.
