Mission

Building Our Future: A New Home for Wamego Veterans and Community

The American Legion is more than just a building—it's the heart of our post and a vital hub for

veterans and the Wamego community. For years, we've been dedicated to supporting those

who have served and enriching the lives of our neighbors. Now, we're launching a major

fundraiser to build a new home that will allow us to expand our efforts and continue this crucial

work for generations to come.

Your support goes directly toward a building that will make a lasting impact. A new facility will

provide a dedicated space to host and grow our many projects, including:

• Honoring Our Heroes: From the Wamego Area Veterans Memorial to the Veterans

         Day Parade and Memorial Day Services, we ensure the sacrifices of our veterans are

         never forgotten.

• Supporting Active Military & Veterans: We assist veterans in need, host the Rolling

         Memorial, and sponsor 1st Infantry Division Soldiers for special events.

• Community Engagement: Our post brings the community together through events like

         the Wamego Easter Egg Hunt and Military Appreciation Days. We also support youth

         programs like Boys State.

• Acts of Patriotism: We coordinate Random Acts of Patriotism and the Valentines for

         Vets program, spreading kindness and respect throughout our community and to

         veterans in care facilities.

This new building isn't just a construction project; it's an investment in a stronger community and
